Craig Dunshea's career has been varied and exciting. Craig has been a private chef for a family, the head chef at Bluebird café and Ice Space in London, an events caterer and a globe trotting barista. Gosh, he has even cooked for the Queen at Windsor Castle. It was this international experience, a love of travel and his passion for food and entertaining that lead to dreams of a local delicatessen in his home suburb of Khandallah.

No stranger to the restaurant business, Craig and partners founded The Krazy Lounge, Imbibe Antipasto, Nui Espresso and Studio Nine - all in Wellington and all while he captained his Western Suburbs premier rugby team. 

Craig, his wife Kerryn and their young family live locally, Kerryn runs her own interior design practice from home and the children are in school in Khandallah. They're passionate about their suburb and from the moment the deli opened its doors in 2011 it became a community hub. Dunshea's Deli is known for its great food, the best coffee for miles and its warm and welcoming atmosphere. It's a place where families gather after sports games, neighbours catch up on news and groups of friends and strangers gather around the communal table to share in the wonderful ritual of eating and entertaining.

In March 2014 Craig and Kerryn opened Automat two doors down. Their aim was to create a local urban environment where families would feel welcome and catered to and all ages would enjoy the atmosphere, quality of food and great wine and craft beer list. Automat opens from 5pm week nights and serves all day during the weekends. Same address - different style but all cooked with the same passion and flair.
